About me

Hello, and welcome to my class blog.  My name is Kristin Rode (formerly Woron).  I am a grade 2 French Immersion teacher at Henry Anderson Elementary school.  I have been teaching at Henry Anderson since 2001.

I have always been an active person.  Exercise and playing soccer have played a big part in my life.  With that in mind, I have a Bachelor of Human Kinetics specializing in Physical Education from UBC and most recently, I completed my Masters of Education Degree in Physical Education, also from UBC.

I am married and have 2 young daughters named Ava and Mia. I am currently on maternity leave and will be returning to work in January 2015.

Ava is such a happy little girl and we have so much fun with her at home.  She is a true animal lover.  She has always been fascinated by animals and she loves going for walks to see all the animals in her neighborhood.  She has so much love for cats, even though hers is not the friendliest.

This is Ava visiting with cat who just had kittens.  She was so happy to be with all the animals!

I also have a cat who has a very challenging personality.  Allie is very cute, however she is very ferocious!  Looks can be deceiving when it comes to Allie!

  1. Hi Mme Rode! Do you still remember me? I’m Sherry, and I was in your class when I was in grade 1 and 2. Wow, I didn’t know you had a second child! They’re both very cute. I also have a blog called “Stories by Sherry” on WordPress.

  2. Hello there! I recently stumbled across your blog while searching for French Immersion related “stuff” on the net. I also teach Immersion (grade 2/3) here in Ontario and really liked the structure of your Dictees. I was just curious about the sentences you use. Is there a particular resource you pull them from or is it just what you create each week? Thanks! 🙂

  3. Bonjour, Kristin.

Nous devons souhaiter une bonne fete a ta mere.

    Felicitations,
