Have a great summer!

Hello Division 19,

Have a wonderful summer.  I look forward to seeing you all in September.  Thank you for a great 6 months.  We had lots of fun learning this year.  Please note that there is NO SCHOOL for students tomorrow.  The school is open if you have forgotten anything. I will also be on site if you have any last minute questions before the summer break.

See you all!

Happy Father’s day and upcoming info for this last week!

Hello division 19,
It is hard to believe that it is already the last week of school.  Here are some final details of what will be happening this week :
Tuesday June 23- we will be having a class picnic at Garden City Park.  Please have your child bring something to share for our picnic.  Please remember it will be very warm so hats, sunscreen and waterbottles are a must! We will be going in the afternoon.  If you are free come and please come and join us!
Wednesday June 24-report cards will be sent home
Also school work will be sent home on this day.  Please send a large bag to school that day. Reusable shopping bags are the best.  Plastic bags tear so easily.
Thursday June 25- year end concert at 9. School is dismissed at 3.
And finally…. Happy Father’s day to all the dad’s and grandpa’s who are part of my class community.  I hope you all have a wonderful day celebrating with your family.  We all appreciate the hard work dad’s and mom’s do for all of us.  Thank you!
See you all tomorrow!

June newsletter

Dear Parents,

Sorry for the delay for the last newsletter for the month. It has been very busy around here the past couple of days! We loved our field trip to 4 cats yesterday. This is what we will be learning in the last couple of weeks of school.

r blends (br, cr, dr, gr), ette, une révision

We have been learning about measurement. The first part of the unit was focusing on linear measurement. This next part will be focusing on the passage of time, how to count money and how to measure temperature. Many of these lessons are real life math and can be easily practiced at home. Have your child help you identify coins/bills and count amounts of money. Have your child practice reading an analog clock. These are easy to work on over the summer months as well.

Social Studies

We are continuing our trip west on our voyage across Canada. Last week we re-created the Confederation Bridge and crossed it using toy cars. We have now made our way down the St. Laurence River and next on our voyage is Quebec City, Montreal and soon to visit the Canadian capital city of Ottawa.

Important Dates to remember for June

  • June 24- Report Cards go home
  • June 25- Last day of classes Dismissal at 3
  • Year end assembly- June 25th time TBA

Please keep reading the blog for any further information.

Thank you,

Mme Rode
